One photo - many decisions

When we choose something to visit, no matter, whether it be a new park for rest or walking, family cozy restaurant not far from home or uncharted tourist attraction, first of all we always pay attention to appearance. Honestly, visual component is very important. If we don’t like how some place looks like we just won’t go there. However, often we can find a lack of information e.g. when we want to look some photos of restaurant but can’t find them. In that case we will most likely change the decision in favour of another restaurant we can find out more information about - photos, visitor reviews and the answers we are looking for. This problem catches up with each of us regularly. But… what if we could always find necessary information? I believe this is the main goal of Local Guides.

In our time almost everyone has a smartphone with pretty good camera, so why don’t we use it? It’s not that hard, just pull your phone out and take a shot, maybe it will help someone make a right decision one day. You take one photo that hundreds and thousands of other people will see. Probably their decision will be based on that photo. As you know, picture’s worth a thousand words.

Personally I find it fascinating and interesting, it something special that could remind you of the past and trigger nice memories about something in an instant.

For example, here my photo that I took one summer night:

Or here is the water fountains that i really like:

Or here is another photo from bird’s-eye view:

In conclusion, I want to say that here is my list of favorite things to sharing on Google Maps in order of impartance:

  1. Photos, of course;
  2. Important edits that help other people to be always well informed about relevant information;
  3. Answers on questions about accessibility.
