One Day Google Map Contribution May Take Me Back Home

I’m like many other people in the big cities that have to live away from home in order to pursuit my career.

I have moved away and don’t live with my parents since I was 15, and after since I’m so independent and live on my own. My parents want me to have the best education and they’re generous to let me chose my career path and build my future; although it means that we have to live apart.

Currently, I live and I work in Bangkok in a small condo size of 45 square meters. While my hometown is in Betong, Yala province where it is surrounded with mountains, rivers, natures, fresh air, and big space as playground. Every morning there will be some fog and cool breeze. The weather is just about right for chilling. The foods are amazing and people are lovely. We know all the neighbours and also easily make new friends by giving a smile.

The distance from my work to home is 1,210 kilometres away and that takes at least 16 hours by driving. Or it would take at least 1.5 hours on plane to Hatyai and another 3-4 hours by van to Betong. This is the reason that I don’t get to go home often. I hardly spend time with my family; it is only 2-3 times a year.

Until recently that there is a plan to build the airport for Betong and plan to operate by mid of 2020. I really wish that with the airport, it will bring many tourists from Thailand and neighboring countries. If Betong becomes more well-known and a new destination for travelling. That will create the jobs and also many opportunities for local people that includes people like me to return home.

Why Contribution Matters?

I love to make contribution to the map because I know that every contribution I share, it also

  • Help local business to be found and gradually be known and expand their businesses

  • Help traveller to know what to expect, where to go, and where to eat

  • Create better experiences for travelling

  • Make the map more user-friendly

  • Bring more advancement and progress to local community

By making contribution to map, we’re helping local communities to grow and advance by welcoming new visitors, who will find it easier, more informative and insights from the review, more attractive by seeing the pictures, to visit or discovery new places. This will eventually shift the fundamental of the hidden places to become spotlight ! It will help improve a lot of people’s lives when we bring advance and progress to their towns.

So, I try to spread the words about “Local Guides Program” to as many of my hometown friends and local people to help make contribution to Betong map and get ready for the new airport opening. When that they come, with the well-contributed map and lot of information; Betong with many great scenic spots, landmark like the biggest post in Thailand, nice weather, beautiful natures, and friendly people. This will be attractive enough to bring travellers and boom its local economy.

And to that day, may it arise of many new possibilities and opportunities for me to return home !

Big Joy and Smile

Hi @SIRISKY

I just wanted to let you know that I have removed the Thai language tag of your post as it’s written in English. These types of labels are used so that posts in different languages can be found more easily by Local Guides who are speakers of these languages.
