We often think we need to travel far to capture beautiful places, but sometimes the most familiar locations have the most interesting stories to tell.
Over the past few months, I’ve been photographing my university campus during different times of the day and under different weather conditions. Although the buildings never changed, the light, clouds, and atmosphere completely transformed how the campus looked and felt. Here are four moments that reminded me how photography can help us rediscover places we pass by every day.
Morning – A bright blue sky and fresh green surroundings make the campus feel full of energy.

Sunset – The warm golden light gives the buildings a peaceful and beautiful look.
Cloudy Day – Dark clouds create a calm and dramatic atmosphere that I really enjoy capturing.
Wide-Angle View – Most of my photos are taken in wide angle because I love showing the buildings together with the open sky and green campus.
These photos also remind me why I enjoy adding pictures to Google Maps. A place can look very different depending on the weather and time of day, and photos help visitors know what to expect.
