This round cake is made of sticky rice flour. With sweet red bean filling. The outer layer is wrapped in sesame and fried

Onde-onde is a traditional cake. Usually served as a friend to drink coffee or tea. Sometimes also as a snack box, juxtaposed with other cakes.

Sometimes the onde-onde are also for party treats with other traditional cakes. Wedding parties, baby-born parties, also harvest parties

There are also those that make onde-onde as a breakfast menu. Generally they buy from cake sellers with more varied fillings.

How to make onde-onde is easy. Glutinous rice flour and sugar and salt add a little water, stir until the mixture can be formed

Prepare the filling, in the form of red bean stew, puree. Give brown sugar and salt, also pandan leaves so that they are fragrant. Cook on medium heat to dry slightly.

Next take a little mixture, flatten it. Give the filling & round shape, roll it in sesame, fry until cooked. Ready to be enjoyed. Anybody want to try?

Onde-onde. Kudapan tradisional legendaris.

Konon, Mbak @Moestika , onde-onde yang paling enak itu onde-onde yang biji wijennya ditempelkan satu-per-satu, bukan diguling-gulingkan. Konon… :grin::grin:

@Moestika Sweet sweet laddu in another name - as Onde-onde in Java. In India we do not use the sticky rice. I have tasted sticky rice in Japan and China. We prefer our rice not sticking to each other. You can count the grains of the rice even after cooking when placed on the plate in Indian dishes. It will not stick.

@Moestika Do you fry it in oil?

In Indonesia we eat non-sticky rice. Sticky rice is not the main food. Usually used for cakes or snacks. Onde-onde we made by frying it using cooking oil @Indira_IllathuVala
