Once upon a time at the Akagera National Park

We have to be up at 4am and leave latest 5am, If we want to have a chance of seeing the “Big 5” he said.

This was my Uncle speaking and ardent traveller who has visited a number of National Parks in Africa and has seen some of the big 5 but has never seen the Lion.

His hope was that this was going to be his day, especially because he had me with him.
Set out we did, up , down and around the hills we drove, the clouds kissing the moutains, our eyes gazing through the early morning dew and beholding beautiful scenery that left out months agape… And it dawned on me “This is Rwanda” The Land of a thousand hills.
All of the spectacle made us loose track of time, the drive to akagera was almost 3 hours!!

Got to the gate, got a guide and off we went into the wild.

It was wonderful to say the least.

We saw the monkeys, crocs, hippos, zebras, giraffes warthogs.

We were almost giving up and then “viola”

We see the big

Into the wild! :ok_hand:

Great experience, but what can be done to preserve the environment ,preserve the animals from extinction.
