On the way to wild waterfall

Since my childhood, nature creates fascination in my mind. In my teenage I tried to explore some place but money is a great matter. In addition, I don’t find any suitable friends to move. So one day I got invitation to go Bandorban. We are 7 member with two girls. The main coordinator of this journey is my friend deep who is the only experienced person. He actually made the plan and fixed our destination “Baklai waterfall” by searching Google map and information from D-Way expediter (who first time discover this place).

The best time to go Bandarban is night at 11 pm. It took 8 hours and you can sleep on that time. Our coordinator deep message all of us a list of necessary things to take like 1. only half pant and loose dress… 2. torch light (battery) 3. orsalaine and paracetamol (as much as u can) 4. water bottle.

Its 7 AM in badorban town. We need to go thanchi Upazila. It took 7 hour to reach thanchi. Its rainy season which is perfect to see the actual beauty of waterfall.7 hour journey to thanchi is so much horrible for me because the road is so much tough and sloppy but the view is awesomeWe stay Thanchi upazila in that night in govt. rest house which is not so good. Though there have other accommodation but we stay here because of saving money. In that night we are planning for further action but we cant reached a strict decision because baklai is very much risky for girls. In the next morning we are again engaged in clash and dispute regarding our route map because we don’t know the path. At last we decide to don’t take any guide but took one local guys from near shahjahan para because they are more efficient than guide. However from army camp they don’t allow to enter in the deep without local guys. We take decision to cheat and start to move without informing army with local pahari guys named “Samsun”. He knows the path of “Baklai para” which is the base camp of baklai waterfall. “Gorumarapahar” which is our first obstacle. This hill is very much rocky and almost 90 degree flat! Also rain leech (Jook) gives us extra flavor for this trail. After 2 hours we successfully pass this thrilled “Gorumarapahar” and took rest for half an hour beside the broken hill. Now we face the real nature. We took some orange from the orange garden which is absolutely natural to see orange tree for the first time in our life we are little bit excited to take orange. But the garden is full of leach which is great obstacle too. At last we collect 5 orange from the easiest side which is not fully grape and a little bit sour. The garden grows naturally and because of long distance no one eager to bring and sell it to Thanchi bazar.

We started to move for staying this night into “Boarding para”. The evening is coming and some of member have no torch light. But we need to pass another hill which is very sloppy and every of our member could suffer a dangerous slip and fall in 1000 ft down in any minute with just a single wrong step. We are trying hard to keep our balance by bamboo stick. One of our member sit into the ground and ride around 10 meter down and we follow her strategy.

At 9 PM after rainy night trekking, we reach near boarding para. After various types of sloppy hassle we reach the boarding para and arrange our accommodation. The dinner is so much horrible for that night but the shower: the best under the moonlit night in “PahariJhiri” where moon light reflected in the paharijhiri and the shadow of tree made it more charming. Next morning I just astonished that ladies are wearing minimal cloth and their upper side is completely naked and then I think how backward they are and feel the stone age over here.

We started our trail again to find “Baklai para”. However this trail is full of leech and we face almost 200 leach per day! In the evening we reach “Baklai para”. Our food is over and we go to the nearby army camp to arrange some food. They are very responsive and gives us all the thing we need even mosquito coil. They did not see bangali last 6 month. So they were very exited to see us.

We feel the sound sleep on that night in tribal house which is actually a relative of our guide Samsun Next morning we are prepared to conquer baklai waterfall. We start our trail again. I never see such a natural scenery in this trail. Just feeling awesome but after one hour trail we face a path which is full of soft clay cover our knee. I already lost two of my nails! Countless leach attacking us continuously but we move in such a way that i cant feel that my leg with me. its very difficult to move in the hill. However we can and see the bird’s eye view of baklai waterfall. You can say it as daring beauty! The fact is we can see it but we cant go for it. One of our friend getting more emotional and give “AZAAN. The tragedy is we don’t find any path to go down in the waterfall and the path is so much straight!

So we go back to the “Baklai para” and plan to move with some extra preparation. In the mean time we saw the cloud is covering and wet us. This is the only difference between fog and cloud that you wet in cloud which is not possible in fog but both are same. Our guide says we should at least saw the top view baklai. Its 1 hour walking distance only. So we decide on the top of the waterfall. The path is dark even it was 2pm! We feel like amazon jungle. When I stand on the top of the waterfall I feel something special and forgot everything about my life. Now we need to go back. In “Baklai para” there have a football field which is almost the highest plain field in Bangladesh. Some locals (Pahari) playing football and we also want to play with them. But they are so much swift speedy so that we can’t able to make any goal. But when our guide Sam join with us, we get the fuel and the game is draw. The funny thing is that the two girls are remain goal keeper and continuously protect the ball from speedy shot made by pahari player. Anyways, we made a BarbQ on that night under the moonlit night in top of the hill. For the first time I feel how moon is superb from top of the hill.

Next morning, we convince one local Pahari to go with us and show the path of baklai waterfalls. After six hour of mountain climbing we reached on the ground of waterfall and that was amazing when we stand in front of that. We feel again the real nature where no sign of civilization exist even the trees are growing differently over there. Its gives us a complete natural feeling. We conquer our destination. Now we go back to our home. Though our physical needs always irritate us but we never stop to take the extract of nature.
