This has been an on going adventurer, if you’re in Auckland its very common to find a boutique burger chain in town that will cost you around $20NZD it might even include some fries on the side.
A few years ago out in the suburbs of Mount Wellington, Auckland I fount a place called Big J’s Takeaways.
This was a true gem that ticked all the boxes required for what I’m looking for. It has that kiwi fish and chips vibe and an incredible menu to match, these guys are known for their burger of the week seen here:

Now the issue here is that it is quite a trek to venture out to Mount Wellington especially if you live out in West Auckland.
The new contender in this battle was discovered late last year.
I’m talking about King Shakas, its a fairly new burger place and their value to quality ratio is off the meter.
Here are my two entries thus far, some notible mentions would be Burger Burger and Better Burger in New Market and Birtomart.
