Olympics in silence

Due to COVID-19 the 2020 Tokyo Olympics have been postponed. By the way, many architectures with unique forms are built for Olympic venue, so let me show you some of them.

This is Ariake Gymnastics Centre.The hall, which uses a lot of wooden building materials, will be used for gymnastics and trampolines.

Now it’s surrounded by fences, no people, no cheers, no liveliness…

A stone box-like building where you can see the volleyball matches is called Ariake Arena.

The white fences get in the way, and you can’t see the sophisticated appearance. There is only blowing wind from river.

Someday, I hope that many people from all over the world will come here and enjoy the Olympic Games.

I live nearby. each time i see this ariake arenas and harumi olympic village empty, become sad. Let’s live with hope that corona leave soon
