As an architecture enthusiast the Tokyo Metropolitan government building is a must place for me. I have visited on 26 March, 2025. The breathetaking view from the 45th floor was just i feel like a bird and this scenery was can be enjoyed with free of cost. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building(東京都庁舎, Tokyo-to Chosha) which administers the special wards, cities, towns, and villages that make up the Tokyo metropolitan area by Tokyo Metropolitan government building is located at Nishi Shinjuku, Tokyo.
Famous architecht Kenzo Tange designed this iconic landmark of Tokyo. In the year of 1990 its construction was finished and opened on 1991. With a 243 m or 797 ft of height, it was the tallest building by roof hieght of Tokyo till 2007. It has a architecture of three building. The tallest of the three is the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building No. 1, a 48 floored tower divided into two sections of 33 floors. The building also has three levels below ground. The building was designed to resemble an integrated circuit (IC), while also giving it the appearance of a Gothic cathedral (its a french work of pointed arch).
The building has super bird eye view of 360’ from 2 observatory point south and north. Observatory points is on he 45th floor height of 202m or 667 ft. South Observatory is closed until end of April. On a clear amd bright day the sight seeing can be done on this point. Mt. Fuji san, Tokyo skytree, Tokyo Tower, Tokyo bay, could visible from here. I feel so small from this vast world. This beautiful view will remain in my memory as a once in a lifetime experience.
Its a wheelchair accessible Observatory point. This path is sad it all
I am a Bangladeshi by birth. March 26 was Bangladesh’s 54th Independence Day. Nothing more than an attempt to raise the Bangladesh flag on a 667 feet high.
The souvenir shops, restaurant, ice cream shop, restroom, all are in the Observatory. Graffiti and many advisory things were included. Took time for entrance because only 2 lifts on North Observatory and big queue of people were waiting. And also took time for leaving the Observatory as well.
