Nusret Gökçe known as Salt Bae is a famous Turkish butcher with millions of online followers, friends to many celebrities and politicians. I get goosebumps each time I watch him or his team prepare steak with their seasoning techniques, the best appetizing show which has also become an internet meme. It’s a tradition in his steak chain houses to see everyone capturing their moments with their phones the minute they see food coming. The show Nusr-et throw when serving your meal is the most captivating food entertainment with styles I have seen.

My first experience at Nusr-Et was with my company CEO Mustapha Njie and Regional Manager Ousainou Sosseh both my mentors and foodies, l just love these guys too much. We came from different countries (Nigeria, Gambia and Cyprus) to meet in Istanbul for work, food, shop, play and pray. What an amazing experience it was! My colleagues and friends love his food, they visit Nusrat’s steakhouse each time they travel to Turkey and the experience always fantastic.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I have heard a lot of stories about the Nusr-Et’s steaks but I have never tried them. Which of the dishes you liked the most? What would you recommend to other Local Guides?

You need to try them as soon as you can! I love the Avocado Salade and Yayla Ispanak (Not sure if that’s available in all their restaurants). The Lamb Chop is just too amazing, for steak I would recommend either New York Steak or Nusr-Et Kobe.
I would recommend Local Guides to go in groups or at least with two or more people, it’s more exciting when you don’t go alone and the bills will worth it. There is usually a long wait sometimes and you must be specific how you would like your steak from medium well done to well done and I like it medium-well done.

I have also heard about the “Salt Bae” and watched the demonstration on Instagram. I am glad that more than the theatrics of serving the food, the steak is actually worth it @AlphaSays

@Ewaade_3A the wax was so realistic, actually, many of my friends thought I had a picture with him. Sometimes I can meet him at the place if you are lucky.
