Now we can report places as 'Temporarily closed'!

Hello everyone, I hope you are safe.

I just noticed some new and useful updates in the Maps. Now we can report places as ‘Temporarily closed’! :heart_eyes: Previously we could only report business as ‘Permanently closed’. In this pandemic, this will be useful to report businesses that are temporarily closed.

Also, there is another change. I see that ‘Doesn’t exist’ has been changed to ‘Never existed’. This makes more sense.

Also, I am not sure but it seems the option at the very bottom (Legal issue) is also new or changed. What do you think?

Great find @SaifIS ! Were you able to use the Temporary closed already? And if so: did it give you an option to specify a period of time?

About the Legal issue @Zino : that used to be there already, but also had different wording I think. I mentioned the reasons in a recent podcast episode (the one on #LGCTM). In that episode, by the way, I also stated that ‘Doesn’t exist’ was not the best possible wording … No idea if that was picked up, but happy to see that change too.

@JanVanHaver I didn’t use. But when I selected Temporarily closed, I didn’t get an option to specify a timeframe.

Good to know, thanks @SaifIS ! I’ve updated my app and tried the feature (a marvellous cafe is closed temporarily) . No, it doesn’t suggest a time frame or any other additional information fields, @JanVanHaver .

That’s a very useful feature even without the pandemic. Some places close for renovation or other reasons, so it’s useful to mark them as temporarily closed instead of deleting the place by marking closed forever or leave unchanged confusing people who use maps to find a needed place and then become disappointed.
