We are conversant with the progressive web app for “Connect” on the phone as well as on a desktop.
Today, when I opened the Maps website on the PC, there appeared a prompt in the search bar “Install app”.
On click, that created a shortcut on the desktop for the application, on the same lines of “Connect”
Although not much advantage, I recognized the following enhancements.
Loads in a full-screen mode eliminating address bar and tabs.
The program appears as a standalone object on the task-bar.
The app is expected to work even in uncertain network conditions. However, that did not happen. There is no concept of “Offline maps” on a desktop yet.
Possibly, we can expect some more enrichment in the app in future.
Hi @C_T based on my knowledge unless things have changed recently due to updates, we do not have an app yet for local guides connect, this has been suggested before on Idea Exchange. Please see this post for more information from others Local Guides Connect App if you have updated information about this matter, please share with us here as we would love to know about it too, what you might have seen would be a short cut created when you log into local guides connect. Hi @C_T that is helpful as it only takes one click of a button, while when using the search, you first need to search for local guides connect, click on it, let it load until you get there.
