Notification Emails From Connect Are Delayed.

Hey!!

All.

From approximately,

More than 7 days,

The local guides connect emails has been becoming very slow.

Someone who tagged me on connect, I received the email after 3-4 hours.

And when someone send me private message, it has been took up to 12 hours.

When I open the connect, it’s easy to read all messages and notifications. But when I was busy, I give my priority to checking the mails.

In this, I found that emails are becoming very slow. There is huge time difference.

Is anyone feels the same?

Hello @KishorMali
To know the root cause, can you tell something more?
Do you use some mail client, or read that in Gmail, directly?
I understand you are using WiFi. However, what’s the source of that, a fixed-line broadband connection or mobile hot-spot through 4G LTE?
Have you configured the domain name servers to use Google or some other faster DNS? Time needed to resolve a domain name can also add substantial delay.

Further, the push message may not be there for every email. Do you open the mail & check arrival of any new messages?

Hy!! @C_T

I use mobile data for accessing internet.

When internet issue is happening, I got help form other Mobile’s hotspot.

But in this month(July) , I didn’t use hotspot because my mobile data network’s works fine.

Yes, I am directly check my emails in Gmail App.

Do you open the mail & check arrival of any new messages?

Yes, I did that many times.

I can confirm your observation, @KishorMali and my internet connections and email setup can not explain the delays, @C_T .

Daily I find and read messages I have been tagged in directly here on Connect only hours later to receive a notification about the same message.

Clearly the server is running behind. Or the delay was put in place for a reason.

Cheers

Morten

The title of this thread can easily be misunderstood. How about: Notification emails from Connect are delayed

Hello @KishorMali

Thanks for the reply. Still, you didn’t answer the query related to DNS. Further, it’s not clear the type of network. But I guess that to be 4G.

Nevertheless, I had noted that most of your earlier problems got resolved over time without any remedial action.

BTW I am not facing any delays in getting Gmail and think that’s not a generic problem.

Thanks for your reply @MortenCopenhagen

You posted a reply and within two minutes the email landed in my inbox. I don’t see any latest news on the outage. Maybe some servers are lagging in response.

Thanks. The notification for your last message reached me the minute after you posted it. Fantastic. But often it is a lot slower. I agree one or two server might need a reboot! Haha!

No, I didn’t.

I like reading from the Techie guys on Connect. I noticed this too, but I never thought much of it until you pointed it out.

wow; DNS, Domain, Servers, Reboot…

I doubt I will ever make it this far.

Thanks @KishorMali for putting this up

@MortenCopenhagen for pointing it out

@C_T for explaining and trying to clear it all

Thanks for the compliments @Ewaade_3A

The things are now simpler in Android 9 & 10.

You can understand that in this article.

And if you wish knowing something more about Google DNS, here is the information.

My Phone runs on Android 10, I guess I am not just wired to know tech stuffs. @C_T

That’s not difficult @Ewaade_3A

Open the settings on your Android phone, and then the network settings.

There you will find an entry “Private DNS”.

Otherwise, you can search that setting.

There enter name of the private DNS provider as dns.google, or any other of your choice. Save the setting & that’s all. If you are not happy or do not find any improvement, then you can revert that setting anytime.

What will this tweak do for me?

I am always scared to touch stuffs on my phone, because I don’t know it!

I remember once, I had just started driving, I was about making a right turn and had to drive over a boulder, it was difficult for me!.

Then, one man jumped out of somewhere and went; turn your hand, turn your hand, I kept turning the Steering wheel, then, he said; “Accelerate”! I met myself stuck to a Primary School fence :sleepy: :sleepy:

Ever since, I have been wary of taking advice, especially from someone who eould not even tell me their name.

Thank you, but No.

Thanks @KishorMali bhai for sharing your problem. Do prefer to open gmail in web browser rather than in apps. I think some times due to cache memory and problems in auto-refreshing notifications not show instantly. I am using Gmail in Chrome browser in my android mobile.

Welcome. @BijohnAdams

I always use Gmail app for checking my Emails.

After your advice,I will use this in web browser. :+1:

Thanks for your subtle message @Ewaade_3A
I admit & respect your choice.

Though, I know each and everything that goes under a car bonnet and given sufficient time & tools, I can mend that. Even then, I will not venture to do so & hand it over to a mechanic.
Your thinking goes along the same lines & I accept that.

If someone gives you time and trying to help for solving your problems and queries, then you need to respect them.

We respect each other opinions.

But, I am shocked if you don’t want to implement solution to solve difficulties, then why you asking.

Avoid and ignore it.

we try to help local guides with our technical knowledge and based on experience.

I understand your feelings, but seems like you are disrespecting of our advices.

At least you need to respect @C_T ,

I learnt many things from him and they help me a lot for solving my queries.

Stay away from my post.

Hey!!! @AngieYC

Can you check this?

Still this issue is not solved.
