Not showing duplicate places suggestion

Hi,

A few days ago I have seen that when I was reporting a duplicate place the suggestion for possible duplicate places was not showing. I thought this might be for that particular place or time. But today I tried again for another place but also for this instance suggestion for duplicate places is not showing.

Have you encountered this recently? Or do you have any idea why this is happening?

Hii… @SaifIS I am too facing the same problem… It’s happening today only with me as much as I have seen…

Hi @SaifIS and @PrashantPr ,

This is normal. The primary place (the one to remain on the map) will only show up - and the list will only show up if they are sufficiently similar. That is : name, category, phone number and website and maybe more should match excately. Otherwise the list does not show up. You need to abort the merge operation and continue making them more alike. And wait for changes to be approved.

@MortenCopenhagen I know what you just said. It could have been okay it the other one (duplicate) was not showing. Previously a list of other nearby businesses was showing. Now nothing is being shown.

Thanks for response @MortenCopenhagen . Now I got it. And yes I just checked both places detailing … Both are same place but more detailing on original place rather than on its duplicate place… Can you clear one more thing please… Many times if we suggest Google about that duplicate place… It directly says not applied and Google couldn’t verify it… Can you guide me on this please…i mean how can we suggest so that duplicate place must be removed by Google without saying does not applied…

@SaifIS brother @MortenCopenhagen is right… I just checked this with 2 different places that I am trying to mention in duplicate category… I am getting list of suggestions in first one while no suggestion when doing the same thing for second place…

Hi @PrashantPr ,

I think I pretty much covered everything in the #LGCTM post on Merging Workflow.

After carefully making all the fields alike I never experienced a merge not being approved.

So I think you must have not followed the steps provided in the post mentioned above.

You might not have build sufficient trust score to get the nesseary edits approved. This can only be fixed by be building more experience and only submitting suggestions that are following all the rules and guidelines perfectly.

On top of what @MortenCopenhagen already mentioned @SaifIS @PrashantPr I would like to point out that certain categories/areas/countries certain types of edits are not allowed, so that could explain the immediate not applied ones. There is no publicly available list of any of those exceptions that I know of, so it is often just trial & error…
