I have noticed that I am not receiving regular emails from the Google Local Guides program and not receiving any badges(birthday) after 2021, and I’m wondering if anyone else is facing the same issue.

I did not receive the 6th Birthday badge on Local Guides Connect (June 2022), and I haven’t received any email notifications since January 2022, except for private messages. I have checked my email settings, and there are no restrictions on my work email account (I am using a Google wrok email address). So, I’m wondering if this is a known issue or if it’s something specific to my account.

If you have faced a similar issue, please share your experiences in the comments section. It would be great to understand how many people are affected by this problem and if there’s a common solution.

Also, I would like to request the Google and Connect moderators to help me understand why I am not receiving regular emails and notifications from the Local Guides program. I hope Google and Connect moderators can assist me in fixing this problem so that I can continue contributing to the Local Guides community and receive important updates and notifications.

Please check your email settings found here. Also update the location to show your current location.

@MortenCopenhagen Thank you for your response. Please see the current settings. I didn’t change them for years. Is there any issue with these settings?

They look fine, @AnuradhaP

When reaching the highest LG levels the about of praise emails goes down dramatically. I assume they didn’t anticipate people to get tens (or hundreds) of thousands of points. :wink: . Or maybe they realized that when reaching the highest levels we are pretty much hooked on improving Google Maps. And no more praise is needed :rofl:

Do you get the monthly status updates?

Maybe you will need to check your spam filter.

@MortenCopenhagen Maybe, no more praises. I am not getting any emails except for private messages. I checked spam, and there are no emails from Local Guides Connect. Hopefully, a Google moderator may have an answer.

I’ve had exactly the same issue - all the emails from Local Guides Connect has stopped. I’ve checked my settings in Local Guides and they are the same as yours, alongside spam (etc.), but still no emails.

Hope a Moderator can help us out!
