Not everything changes with times! Snow in Milan ❄️❄️

This post is addressed to all those who would like to travel, but for clear reasons do not have the opportunity.

Last week there was an extraordinary snowfall for the city of Milan, I know that many of you come from countries where snow is very common, but I would like to show you this little “postcard” of a city that has not seen snow for a long time.

This black and white photo below (more white than black) is a stock image of a famous snowfall occurred in 1985.

(Historical Photos from National Archive Database, accessible in the newspaper archive)

Not everything changes with times…streetcars are one of the symbols of Milan, they have the nickname “Wooden Leg” [Gamba de legn].

Once everything will finish, cities and their symbols will wait for us! ?

Keep safe

Ciao @nicspelgatti ,

nice photos, it is indeed a nice postcard memory … for a city which doesn’t see snow since very long  . Actually I think we might have this feeling in many places, we saw this winter was special, being colder everywhere and with huge amount of snow in places where it wasn’t snowing since decades!

Here on mountains around Lucca we had even up to 3mt of snow, unbelivable amount … but unfortunately we cannot freely go skiing hehe.

Thank you for sharing and stay safe you too my friend!

Very nice photograph, we are expecting Snow here in Ireland soon, not sure when but apparently “The Beast from the East” is coming. I have been to Milan once. I did not have a good experience there sadly. I ended up having a better time in Bergamo :slightly_smiling_face:

Nice photo @nicspelgatti . The climate of the world is changing in many places. Having seen with my own eyes what’s happening in Greenland, nothing surprises me any more. My fear is that we, mankind, may have gone too far now, beyond the tipping point making the future just so uncertain.

Ciao @LuigiZ , always a pleasure to see messages from you!!

Waoo 3mt of snow, amazing!!! I love snow and the soft sensation of calm of city under fresh snow

I confess that it was really a pleasant experience waking up and see everything snowy, unfortunately, the whole day I spent in the office, but I trust in new snowfall…so I can do cross-country skiing to go to work!

take care :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks for the message @AdamGT
I understand your point well, climate change is a very large and complex topic and probably two photos can not give it the right weight, but anyway what is certain is the constant daily efforts we must make to respect the environment and the world we live in.

Yes, the changes are mainly due to the carelessness of mankind.

Let us hope for a better tomorrow.
