What I love sharing the most as a local guide is the experience. No matter the location, whether food, fashion or for other business ventures; I simply love to share great things with good people who are looking for the same.
It wasn’t always easy at first. There was a point in my life I had really bad anxiety. I would go out with my now-husband to theaters and restaurants, and the moment we park, I would be too anxious to even step inside. I was worried about what encounters might be made and the type of environment it would be. Since writing and reviewing places for google maps and seeing that I was actually receiving thankful and positive feedback from the community; my anxiety was no more! Why? Being a local guide, an adviser for others, gave me a reason outside of my ‘self’. I had a purpose, to continue on and seek information for not only myself but other people like me. Being able to eliminate the worries, answer questions, and finding new information helped and also became a passion.
I want to be able to share the full experience rather than questionable reviews. People should be able to read an experience and feel as though they were there. I help people visualize not just the place but the journey along the way. I provide them with accurate expectations. Just like fellow guides have done for me; I wish to bring people confidence and cap their curiosity so that they can just go; to explore; to engage with others and the environment while at the same time feeling safe, secure, and welcomed.
