Not able to place request for adding a missing place

I think i filled all the fields while adding a missing place, but the request did not get through.

i tried 3-4 times without any success.

what could be the reasons (I was adding a kiosk - a tobacco shop).

@vyapak I know it’s a disappointing thing. But every local guide has some edits which are pending. Some edits are accepted promptly by Google algorithm and some are placed under pending. Which will be verified using fact check options or other facts by the Maps. Read this post from a Google Moderator Why is my edit status “Pending” or “Not Applied”?

Few tips from me;
Always keep your GPS on and make sure it is accurate when you are adding a place to maps. When I am adding a location on the map I have found that when I am present in the location and GPS is accurate maps tend to approve it in most cases. Also always try to add at least one photo of the place when adding or editing, this will increase the chance of approval.

i tried adding the place but google maps didnt even accept it.

so it is not in pending state either :frowning:

let me re-explain:

  1. I click on the link “add a missing place”

  2. the form comes up

  3. i fill the name and then the category (tobacco shop)

  4. I update location

  5. then i click on submit/send

it doesnt get submitted - thats it i am then compelled to discard

@vyapak Thanks for the details. But sometimes map just don’t approve some edits. And we do not have control over it. All the LGs face this as this is processed automatically by the software.

Dear @vyapak ,

Please go to your contributions , and then Edits. Check the status of your edit. please share a screenshot of it as I have done here. You can see that there are three types.

1.Not Applied

2.Pending

3.Approved

@thayal the place i tried adding does not show up in edits as google maps did not accept it as submitted

@vyapak ,

One thing you can do is, to try to add it again. If you could add a photo, it would be much better. Please read this topic, which was already provided by @SaifIS . This topic may not clearly answer your problem. But, you can gather a lot of information by reading that topic and other’s replies.

I have faced the same situation uncountable times. But still keep going adding places even though I receive so many denials.

Hi @vyapak did you tick “this place is inside another place”? This is an issue I’ve experienced recently.
