Non-existent way to local guides

Sometimes I think about people in modern city. We get used to rely on our gadgets, but how often every one of us got in trouble because of inaccurate, outdated, or missed information about some places in new city or even our home city! What are you feel at such moments – annoyance, anger, despair or maybe hopelessness?

Someday I have prompted taxi driver right way, when [Google Map based] navigator led it to nonexistent driveway to my home. When it has repeated third time (of course, taxi drivers were new every time) I’ve thought: “What the hell with this map? What a fool made it?” [Oh, Google, it’s yours? Sorry, nothing personal].

I have been using various GIS for over 20 years and used paper maps before. Every time, when data doesn’t match reality, I feel disappointment, because I can’t fix it. Sometimes I dream if I could.

But everything is changing. Tadaaam! I’ve joined a Google Local Guides. Now I can add a new object or a photo to map, point out right location, provide accessibility info or share any other useful information, I have about map’s objects. It drives me up – to supply with checked data other people, that need them. And not only me, I see many other local guides close by, that make the same things. Wow, it’s great!

Oh, by the way, regarding that nonexistent driveway – it’s still on map. Could somebody tip me how to make Google to believe me? It declines all my suggested, but I’m bored of showing right way to taxi drivers.

Still on duty,
