I noticed a double posting of a hotel in our place. I wanted to edit the duplicated place in order not to create confusions to the people but no way I can find the “suggest an edit” portion. Other establishments has it. Kindly take a look with my screenshots.
@Do_ME_YOUnique I just checked the location. I do see a “Suggest an Edit” button.
I would suggest you can try on a desktop computer.
Or, try to delete cache of Maps app in your phone and try again. To do this, close Maps, update to latest version if available. (Assuming you are on Android), go to phone settings, look for Apps, Google Maps, Storage, Clear Cache.
The fact @Do_ME_YOUnique is reporting, happens to be correct.
However, in my opinion, these are two distinct POIs, with two slightly different rates & are just 0.1 miles apart. Further, the count of reviews are also different for these two places.
Nevertheless, both the paces are editable.
However, unless it is confirmed on-site, one should not try to delete or merge these two POIs.
What I have noticed @Do_ME_YOUnique is that places with hotels that ‘Check availability’ on the page, like hotels, have the ‘Suggest an edit’ button all the way down, even below the reviews. So perhaps you simply did not scroll down far enough?
I just wanted to respectfully dissagre with you that differences in review count a, rates, and the distance between POIs are not indicators we can use to predict if POIs should be merged or not. Actually they normally will be different on POIs in need to be merged.
I would be happy to discuss this further. Preferably under this post on How to merge POIs.
This is just a generic comment and not related to the two hotels being discussed in this thread. I haven’t researched them and I don’t have the much needed ‘on the ground’-insight needed to make such determinations.
I did your instruction on my android phone. But when I tried to search for the place, something pops up that say, can’t connect. Therefore, I have no way to see if I could see the suggest an edit portion. Pls see my screenshots again.
I tried checking it on a desktop too but could no longer find the place so I no longer have to edit it as duplicate cause it is already gone. What appears in the desktop now is only the correct and original one.
@Do_ME_YOUnique ok. Good to know that there is no duplicate issue now.
Regarding your Maps app not.able to connect, do try again after some time. It’s likely a connectivity issue. Once cache is cleared, some amount of data is probably needed to.be downloaded and your bandwidth might nit be fast. Can’t say for sure.
If that problem persists, try to reboot your phone.
Thank you for your response. As of the moment, I can’t say yet because I could no longer see contents on that place that I referred to be a duplicate. I have tried searching at other establishments though but they have the suggest an edit option. In this case now, I think someone from you, Moderators, also resolved the problem and I can only say, Thank you! Atleast those who are looking for that place now will no longer be confused Again, Salamat!

For the moment, I have recently made a test on personal device, directly searching with the keyword GC Suites Hayes St. - would appear the location of GC Suites, as that would be as indented, correct?
Do feel free to check again on your end, if convenient.
You may also use the tagging system, with the “@” so that the name of a person you are forwarding the message will appear, as it also allows you to receive notification to follow up posts easily.
For the moment, is there would be any further irregularities on Google Maps , do feel free send feedback, or if urgently needed, to let a moderator be alerted.
