I’ve made edits regularly on Google Map for my city. In the past, once I finished submitting an edit, the app will show a sign of “+5” but for these couple of days, it isn’t shown like that, no point is announced like in the attached picture here. I have to say, seeing that"+5" is kind of motivating and rewarding for me. Did something happen? Will I still received points for my edits? (I edit and upload photos daily so I lost count).
Has anyone encountered this? I would love to know.
I also saw this these days. The points still are counting for edits like the past and this is only kind of lag to show that notice about points for each edit.
Maybe Its was a new update from the Google your saying while editing a place like map marker, name, category etc… Yes i have also observed this but while adding a road there’s no changes its showing like past only.
Don’t worry about your points & contributions your saying “Will I still received points for my edits” Yes you will get the points after that edit approved.
If your adding a photo or video you get the points. Once observe the points and see the changes after a edit approved or after adding a photo, video, review

In addition to what @Rakshi2 and @Amiran has said. There are points that gets uploaded immediately on the spot but there are others that may take a while maybe days. That’s very normal.
Regarding the “+5” it does that but the point is not added immediately especially if its edits or addition of a new POI. Yes I have also noticed that new development yesterday when I added some new places on the maps. Your 15 points for new POI still stands when the POI is approved and 5 points for edits.
Don’t worry one thing is that you will always get your appropriate points all things being equal. If you don’t please feel free to tag a moderator here. We can escalate the issue as appropriate.
