As you read this post, you may be attracted to the writer…don’t take it personal, I wish I could meet with you to do the introduction in person; My name is Chinemerem Azubuike, an Entertainer and Educationist from Eastern Nigeria, Isiala - Ngwa in Abia State to be precise. I have been living in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja since 1999; till date, and to have stayed in two major Urban areas, Garki and Gwarinpa, over time has been such a Privileged experience, I am grateful to have acquired for 20years now. From vivid memories as a little child, to recent picture of my present life now, the perception still remains the same; Abuja is the City of Opportunities. "Its the Capital and so, a whole lot happens here.
But much to my surprise, growing into a man with responsibilities exposed me to the Nigerian Reality ; “There are No Jobs.” Well, even with the presence of the Tall Buildings, Large HQTRS offices and Big Parastatals, I don’t expect the Government to provide jobs for everyone,so I decided to think Differently and remind myself that as a Nigerian Youth, I ought to be productive and creative, not Lazy as people may think. I have a blood of a fighter, I will persevere to make out Greatness from where it was least expected. Mind you. I didn’t have much, all I had was my Believe. I just knew that someday, things will Change for the Better. One faithful day, I searched for a Business on Google and after leaving a rating and review about them, I received a prompt to join the Local Guide Community and become a Google Local Guide. At the time, it sounded very fascinating and I wanted to Learn more about how it Works. And so I opted in and read through. After signing up, I thought to take it a step further and enroll for the Online Digital Training ; Fundamentals in Digital Marketing. Started with offline classes and my Facilitator was very Helpful. This inspired me to take it up as a Continued Education Programme and then, practice Digital Advertising as an Occupation. I was very excited I found something engaging and something uniquely different. My Passion Grew overtime and so did my Skills and Practical Knowledge. What I found most intriguing was the Theme of the Course ; Digital Skills for Africa. This feeling birthed the idea of not only Discovering a Path to Sustainable Personal Development, but also an opportunity to Build what other people can Stand on. Fortunately, with the Help of Google Business Tools such as Google My Business, Gsuite and Google Maps, I was able to create new Listings and Set up new Businesses and Brands online, improve their Business locations and Provide potential customers with their Business Information such as Service Hours and Contact details. Google came through for me; with an Intervention Program aimed at Empowering Africans, especially the Dedicated and Passionate Youths.I completed my Digital Course and Was very excited to get my Original Certificate few seconds after taking the exam. This was very Inspiring. So I said to myself, now I have my foot on a Solid Foundation and i’m privileged to partner with a Globally Recognized Brand and Advertising Network such as Google, more so, being a member of a World Wide Volunteer Community…why not Help other People, especially the interested Youths in my Local Community. I set up a Volunteer Network Called iTeach4Free and started with Webinars and Online Tutorials; organizing Online meet ups and sharing eLearning Materials such ebooks and Podcasts… As I further gained experience while practicing, my Clientele grew rapidly and most fulfilling to me was the Fact that I not only have enough for myself, but I have something to offer other people around me. Now I have about 32 Clients on Business Listings and a Team of SEO, SEM, Web Designing and Content Creation Experts. We are all Freelancers, but now we are looking to Build a Company so as to Make Larger room to Liberate others from the Shackles of Unemployment and Inferiority Complex. Now when i look at my City; I smile and say to myself…" Creativity and Strong Believe in ones ability to Learn and Develop, is the Solution that meets the Needs of Others". Opportunities abound, it just Will Power to Harness it that is often Missing.
