It is usually observed that people come here from distant places to eat Tikka, Seekh Kabab, Malai Boti, Kaleiji, Chanp(chops), Takatak and Karahi prepared with chicken, mutton and beef including specific ingredients like tomatoes, green chilies, onions etc. You can also eat Nalli(marrow), Maghaz(brain), Chiray(sparrow), and Batairay(quail) at Shahbaz Tikka. Mint Chatni (a spice of chilies with mint) is a special sour paste served in restaurant.
Gujranwala is popular for barbecued Chiray (sparrows) and Batairay(quails) all over the world. Chiray and Batairay are the dishes prepared with a small bird. Bataira size is little bit bigger than Chirra. This dish is being served in both barbecue as well as in karahi shape at Shahbaz Tikka. Everyone who comes from another city must eat this very famous food of the city. The restaurant also serves a variety of breads named as “Naan” or “Roti”, often prepared in a clay oven.
