Last weekend was the perfect opportunity under an almost full moon to see what my phone could do in low light. We went up to Arches National Park above the skyline of Moab, Utah to see the red rocks in the moonlight. I wasn’t sure what my phone camera could do, but was pleasantly surprised with the results.
These won’t win any awards, but they are a great reminder of a beautiful night.
Tips:
-
Hold still - your camera is trying to let in all the available light, the more still you can me, the less blurry your photo.
-
Use the recommended camera settings, if it flashes up and says “Night light” might help you, trust it.
-
Find a naturally dark space so no artificial light changes the coloring
-
Don’t just aim at the sky, find a silhouette of a natural formation to be your backdrop, that’s where you’ll find your best phot
