When there is a necessity for deletion of a part of a single line road, due to non existent part, what we have to do is to delete entire road and re-draw the correct part again. It is very useful if we have a splice tool to cut it.
Again, when a road is glued into the main road at a wrong place, it’s very useful if there is an unglue tool too.
I agree that the break-up-a-road tool is missing and would be great to have. Counter-arguments would be that the road editing interface gets more complicated and the tool could potentially be used to make a lot of havoc.
Your example is not impossible to fix with the current tool, though. I demonstrated this in the following image.
I aimed to change the road type for only the section of the road that is the bridge. This can not be done with the current tools. I unsuccessfully tried getting this fixed via the Maps Support Forum.
I definitely agree. We had this before on Map Maker but then you know all things changed. Having a cutting tool again is really necessary and I think not only helps the users but also results in simpler change per edit and causes a better understanding of AI, too.
