**Located at 30 minutes from Santa Ana, and 1 hour from San Salvador (capital).**This lake is calm and beautiful. The locals are incredibly friendly and there is so much to do. So stop by the many restaurants and lakeside pools, grab a jetski for an hour or two (there are between $20 to $30) and then just hang out in the pubs/restaurants and enjoy the live music or whatever is going on at the time. It’s a definite must-see place here in El Salvador. In the summer is one of the best places of all the country. And one of my favorite places here
Thanks a lot for sharing this with us! Do you live in El Salvador or are you traveling around Central America? Can you share some more tips and travel advice when going to Salvador? Is it safe to travel and what to keep in mind?
@DanniS Hi!! thanks for being so nice and show interest on my country; and yes I actually live in El Salvador, but also I love to travel (I have been on all the countries of Central America and in Colombia too, except Belice) First of all, as you mentioned if it safe and the answer is… YES, I have been living here for 26 year now, I was born here hehe, the salvadorian people is very warm and nice with the tourists (because is a really big part of their income). I mean Im realistic too, you have to be carefull when go out late at night (like every place) or things like that, but besides that its a great place for hiking and surfing (We have a lot of beaches and one named “El Tunco” that is well knowed around the world for having all the year nice conditions for surfing, all the tourist came to visit because is a very cosmopolitan ambient, due to all the people from other countries that stay and live there, they just fall in love with the great atmosphere of salvadorian beaches and their citizens.
I hope I answered all your doubts, if you want to know more just ask me :), Im happy to share all the cool places that we have for visit here in El Salvador. I attached some photos of the beach “El Tunco” and hiking mountain “Cerro Verde” in case if you ever want to visit it.
P.S: I attached one photo of the beach “El Tunco” that in english is “The pig” in order for you to understand why is called like that.
