I usually am very active on Local Guides when I am in holiday. I feel inspired by the places, people and atmosphere so I have the time to contribute more. Often my wife is complaining that we are spending quality time together and not each of us “locked” in the mobile screen. I love to read other people’s experiences to the places I would like to visit so I will set my expectation correctly. We all have done this and I’m pretty sure we all took a benefit out of this.
By having all this info it will help me correlate the movie I have in my head for the day that just started and what the other service providers can offer: restaurants, entertainment parks, beach bars and other nice locations.
There is a new challenge for the Local Guides. By doing this we will help our community.
What we will going to do with the local buildings from our area that are belonging to the state: hospitals, polyclinics, police stations, fire fighters…all those public services that are not so easy to review.
They didn’t have the same start as the the private sector, they don’t have the knowledge, the marketing budget to promote themselves. If you want to book a room in a hotel for one night you will see Google aggregates the reviews from different sources like booking or others and you can take the correct decision based on this but how about a center for blood donation. Just by reading the last reviews you will see how many liters of blood were missed because the right information is not there. There are many people with good intentions but they need that call to action. They just need someone to back them up: Yes man, I did the same and it worked, if you want to help, please follow those steps and you can make a difference today.
This Blood Donation Center I’m talking about was claimed by somebody else, he/she added some pictures that were not relevant to the location. I had to report them from multiple devices to be removed by Google. I talked to the Director and she didn’t knew how to claim the business, I’ve asked google to send the official letter to them but they didn’t complete the registration yet. I suppose it’s a lack of knowledge since the site listed was not managed by them either. This is the location (if you want to review).
