newly built home

Hello,

My wife and I just moved to this new subdivision and our address doesn’t exist in the google maps “data base” yet. Does anyone know how to go about getting that google car with all the cameras to ride through my brand new neighborhood and record everything? Or is that not how it works…? There are homes still being built around the neighborhood, I don’t know if maybe that has something to do with this situation.

Hello @nikko92

You can also become a trusted Street view photographer. Then, record a street view and upload that through the street view app.

Once approved, that will become visible to everyone.

Hi @nikko92 you can add the roads yourself https://support.google.com/local-guides/answer/9157791

Note that adding roads and Street View are separate. If you make Street View in a place with no roads it won’t automatically make the roads - you would end up with blue lines for Street View with nothing underneath it.

If you’re in one of the supported countries then you can make Street View yourself with your phone you can read about it https://www.localguidesconnect.com/t5/Announcements/Introducing-Connected-Photos-and-more-in-the-updated-Street-View/ba-p/2792943 and you can watch my demonstration of how it works at https://youtu.be/BkbUlVWc2N0

Normally state authorities and sometimes cities and local government work with Google to add new roads to the Map via the Base Map Partner Program.

Hello @nikko92 ,

To answer your original question, there is no way to request the Google car to pass through your neighbourhood. Google will do so on their own schedule.

Your phrasing makes the issues unclear. Is your issue simply that you’d like to see Street View? Or is it also that you’re address cannot be found when Maps is searched? If the latter is the issue, can you tell us if your road is already drawn and properly named on the map?

yes the map has been drawn and streets are named.
