Hello Everyone! I am a newer Local Guide in Orange County, CA. I was wondering if there are any meet ups that people are aware of? I see meetups for around the world, but never Orange County.

Welcome to Connect, the Official Community of Google Local Guides. I am Niraj Bhusal, Local Guides from Nepal.

A Local Guides Meet-Up is an informal get-together with other Local Guides in your area. It’s a chance to meet like-minded people who are also passionate about exploring their world, and sharing their discoveries on Google Maps.

To find and join a meet-up in your city:

  1. Visit the Local Guides meet-up site
  2. Filter the list of meet-ups by searching for the ones in your city
  3. If you see one that you want to attend, click “Attend this meetup”

@mrmillennial : I know LA has a G+ community of Local Guides as well. Sometimes they post up events on their community page. You can check it out here.

I’ve noticed the same things about meetups, nothing in Orange County.

Any ideas?

@ssmclellan Yes I am still trying to figure it out. Most of the meetups I see are for L.A. but surprisingly none for OC.

I have really enjoyed being a member of Local Guides this past year. I have got to travel around and write about my experiences while sharing information with others. The real reason I decided to go ahead and start doing this was the empowerment that helps everyone make decisions about where to go or what to is the best part. I take pictures and videos of my experiences and hopefully helps others to make decisions in the future. It also helps keep businesses in check while helping business drive more customers. It is a win-win in my book and I have really enjoyed it this past year and hopefully more in the future. When I am not traveling around I like to write blogs, read, watch sports, play golf and enjoy time with my family.
