Hello @AdventuresWithRosy , yes anyone can organise a meet-up. Have a read of this How to organise a meet-up
Good luck. Are you local of Taupo? I lived there for 4 years.
Thanks @TheEagleEye I will give that a read now!
Yup I’m a Taupo local Love it here!
Hi @AdventuresWithRosy ,
Thank you for your enthusiasm! The best way to organize a meeting with other Local Guides is to create a Meet-up on our meet-up site. The other Local Guides will see your meet-up suggestion and will able to RSVP for it once it is approved.
I would suggest that you take a look at these articles, especially if it’s your first time hosting:
How to Organize a Local Guides Meet-Up
If you do set up a meet-up, even though I live in Auckland (south of really), if I have enough warning, I may be able to attend.
I could use a bit of time away from all the hustle and bustle!
If enough notice given i might be able to join too
If you give me enough notice, I would be able to come along. Cause I live central of New Zealand in Rotorua
Where else can we find other nz local guides?
Welcome to Local Guides Connect!
I believe there are fellow Local Guides from New Zealand here on Connect. I suggest searching the community for mentions of “New Zealand” to find posts that have that name in the title, body of the post, or the location tag. Feel free to jump into those threads and connect with Local Guides in your area.
You can use this quick link to find all upcoming planned meetups and activities in your region.
If you want to host your own Meet-ups please follow the link. But before doing that, I recommend you reading this post How to Organize a Local Guides Meet-Up which gives you helpful ideas on the types of activities you can plan and some guidance and tips for helping you organize a successful event for yourself and the Local Guides in your area!
Awesome thank you
You’re welcome. Please don’t forget to tag Connect members in your posts (by writing @ before their name) This way they receive a notification and know that you are trying to communicate with them directly.
So, while there will be no physical meet-ups, we might want to think about a virtual meetup for NZ guides. Perhaps regionally, and talk about initiatives in our area to support each other, and ideas for helping businesses out when they do start to eventually lift the lockdown restrictions.
