Recently, while posting my review of Hungry Puppet Restaurant & Banquet, I stumbled upon some cool new features in the Google Maps review interface that I just had to share with the Connect community!
These tools are turning reviews into full-on storytelling experiences - and I couldn’t wait to share them with my fellow Connect friends!
Live Photos as Videos
“Tap the icon in the top left to upload your live photos as videos to bring motion to others.”
This little pop-up appeared while I was reviewing Hungry Puppet Restaurant & Banquet - and it totally made my day as a Local Guide!
For the first time ever, I was prompted to upload a Live Photo as a short video (check the first screenshot! ).
This small yet powerful addition brings your reviews to life - perfect for capturing that sizzling sizzler, a live music vibe, or just natural movement in your experience.
In-depth Event Insights
I noticed an option to tag special events during our visit - like:
Live music
Themed nights
Special occasions
This can really help fellow foodies and explorers make more informed plans before stepping out!
Rich Media Editing Tools
The updated photo editor is super smooth - you can:
Toggle “video on” for Live Photos
Enhance your visuals seamlessly!
Note: Some of these exciting features may still be in beta and might not be visible to all users (yet!) - but it’s thrilling to see what’s coming next!
Google Maps is evolving fast - it’s no longer just about ratings, it’s becoming an immersive, experience-sharing platform!
