New tool to adding Road

Hi everyone now Google maps introduce new tool for add road (reporting road)

I am happy to share tutorial here (it is look like a mapmaker tool)

Android Tutorial

Step 1: Go Google maps > click menu right side up > Send feedback

Step 2: Click Missing Road

Step 3: scroll map, choose unmarked road put starting point

Step 3: After starting point click Add point, then scroll road add more point (full stretch)

Step 5: After complete full road stretch > click NEXT

Step 6: After the NEXT > Name of the Road (if you know that road name type Name or unknown road type unnamed road)

Step 7: Select Road Type (Local Road / Main Road / Car park / Biking - walking trail) after > Click SEND

@RtnArulPrakasamT Good to see how this feature looks like in Maps. The feature is not yet available in Bangladesh. I have been eagerly waiting to work with roads since the Map Maker was defuncted.

Hello,

Yes, this is another good news these days, and also amazing one specially for user who was contributing in Map Maker.
Drawing is now possible again for users! although it is still so simple and sparse tool but it is still a really good feature to draw real road and help to complete “Map” of areas.

This feature firstly was available for some users in past month as mentioned by @HiroyukiTakisawa and now seems it is available globally.

This is very necessary tool because Local Guides have more accurate knowledge about the roads in their area. So by availability of this feature to draw roads by users and by drawings made by Artificial Intelligence (Which is not so accurate when it has not enough data and good imagery) we’ll see faster improvements about Maps.

This feature still is not available on Desktop and also can not be used to fix the roads currently exist.

Hope we could see other mapping tools as soon as possible in Google Maps.

The reason I become I local guide was to map hiking trials in my town–I have an iphone. In the short term, I’m going to be wandering around the trials with my Surface connected to the hotspot on my phone. Looking forward to this feature becoming available soon on IOS :slight_smile:
