I got an email of invitation → and completed it within 10 minutes. Upon answering, i was told I wasn’t eligible? I truly don’t understand. I am a steady, consistent, varied, international contributor. I got the email invite…so: why?

The email you received was a form to gauge interest and does not guarantee an invitation. Focus groups are performed regularly in various markets around the world and specific criteria for eligibility varies from event to event
On one hand, it feels nice to know that I am not alone who got rejected to the upcoming study. But on the other hand, the feeling is mutual and much disappointing. I also got a similar email for the New Delhi event and instantly my eyes were gleaming with the high hopes of attending the nice event. But all went in vain when I found my ineligibility at the end
I hope that Google will make it more generic in a way by changing the inviting format in future. So that it doesn’t look quite inviting initially.
