New Road Edit Needs Approved ASAP

How do I get a hold of a Google moderator to get my road edits approved?

I’m a local contributor but I’m also a local heavy highway construction manager. I’m currently getting bombarded with severe hate from the local traveling public and PennDOT for the closure of an old intersection and the opening of a new road alignment for access. People are following GMaps and it’s telling them to turn onto a road that’s no longer there. People are driving into a local business parking lot and wreaking havoc, driving through yards, it’s chaos. The new road is literally 400 feet down from the old intersection. Biggest problem is the new road naming rights were given to the property owner who changed the name of the new road to something completely different and it’s confusing everyone.

I’m the project manager so when people complain I’m required to respond to the complaint through PennDOT’s system.

My road closure edit was approved almost instantly, but I need the new road approval to get expedited.

Hi @Granite1 ,

Welcome to Local Guides Connect program!

Since you are new to the community I would like to suggest you to read first these Tips: Using Local Guides Connect.

Regarding your feedback and concerns, I would like to suggest you to follow these steps to report the wrongly added road:

Find the location in question on the map.

  • Click the hamburger icon ☰
  • Click Send feedback => Choose your relevant feedback

Please also review the instructions here on how to Report an Error on the Map. To learn more about how edits are reviewed and approved read the details listed here: Why my edits on map are pending.

I will move your post to the How-tos section, as it better fits there.

KatyaL,

Thanks for the welcome!

I’ve already submitted the edits to Google through the Hamburger Menu etc to add the new road, but they’ve been sitting there in Pending for a while. The edit I submitted for the old road closure got approved in like 5 minutes.

I already knew how to add the edit into the system, what I don’t know is who to contact to expedite the process to get the new road edit approved.

Can I add photos, plans survey data? The new road has been open to traffic since November.

Shouldn’t GMaps be showing folks traveling through the area where the new road is located? There’s a mega church in the neighborhood and the new road sees at least 5,00 to 10,000 vehicles a day.

I am personally handling all of the complaints pouring in and it’s a wast of taxpayers dollars for me to sit here and answer each one. Just looking for a little help getting this added as quickly as possible. Is there anything I can personally do to help the process along?

Thanks @ErmesT !!

I had no idea there was an option for local government involvement. I’ll get this info to my superiors with PennDOT to see what we can do.

I do like to contribute from time to time on my off work activities, so I’ll be sure to separate my local guide contributions.

I really appreciate your help!

You are welcome @Granite1

Please let us have a Feedback

I assume you meant a Kudo’s / like, but if that’s not it I’m not sure what your referring to.

No @Granite1

I am referring to what feedback mean, something like “ok guys, we have been able to solve our issue”.

We like to know if what we suggest can really help you.

At the moment, I am removing the solution given. Feel free to give it if/when your issue will be solved.

A solution mark is for indication that the reply was really helpful, so other Local Guides can benefit of it

Thank you, in any case

Ahh, ok. I see where you’re coming from.

I’m currently working with the Department engineers to see how we can implement this info into actually providing map data to have the new road added. Once we get that done I’ll provide the feedback of how we went about it so other can benefit.
