Can some one please explain and elaborate ’ A new record on Google Maps’.
How to understand this record and how do we know what was the previous record.

This sentence can for sure be confusing. And in my opinion, it should be improved.
Google is referring to YOUR personal records only. They compare your contributions to your previous contributions and not the contributions of other local guides.
You can find your previous stats in older emails or you can continuously follow your contribution stats in the App or on the website.
Remember these emails have the sole purpose to motivate you to keep contributing.

You only have to compare the screenshot you posted today, @CM_Kuncham , with the one you posted 8 days ago, with the same text and a different number
as @MortenCopenhagen said, this is referring to your personal performance, not comparative with the views received by others
Well that was good to know. I knew this. I think the purpose was to get others to read the content. 290 million your killing it.
