The first photo added to a place is often the most viewed, and the most helpful for people deciding whether to check it out.
We have rolled out a new notification on Google Maps for Android that will alert you when you’re at a place where you can be the first to add a photo.
Try it out and let us know what you think.

Any timeline for this coming to iOS? (Sorry, had to ask)
Its really very nice and helpful for Local Guides like me!
I love it! My tip is, be sure you take a really good-looking photo of the establishment since this will be the “most viewed” soon. Thanks for this.

That’s a cool feature. Updating Now
Awesome feature, so often I visit areas that have no images at all… one of the benefits of living somewhere rural I guess
This was a nice add. It’s not about being first… For me it’s about making sure each listing has a real picture.

I received this First Photo notification for 3 times already!
Great Feature!
Some places on GM do not have a user added photo but have the Google 360 panoramic as the only photo. Will a first photo notification be received for these locations?
It really works,… I’ve seen some of my pictures with more than 500 views in 2 days, and 20.000 views in 2 weeks and 50.000 views in 1 month !
Can you show us for which EU countries it works. We need this function.

My question is. When will this happen to the
iOS .
Rusty.
Very cool. I’d love to contribute a photo, especially to a place where there are none.
