New interface to share places on desktop

Hi all,

The interface of sharing link of map features has been changed and now it is more modern and legible.

When you click on Share button, a small section will appear that contains card of place with its cover photo. To copy the link, you should click on the card.

In my opinion, this new UI is clearer, and I like it. What about you?

Saya pun sama dengan Anda @Amiran . Terima kasih :folded_hands:t2:

Thanks for highlighting this @Amiran. I don’t share very often, so didn’t know this was a change. I used it just yesterday to test a new feature @AdamGT is implementing. Looks good and works well.

Brother @Amiran This is beautiful and great, I have been using it every day and have been noticing it for a few days. And I find it easy to share Connect posts with friends.

It’s admirable that you noticed this and reminded me of it again through the Connect post.

Thanks @Amiran

Earlier this morning a parallel story was posted here by @KamalHossen.

I noticed this update a few days ago, and it looks great @Amiran

I have been seeing this new UI for several months now, @Amiran
Nice spotting, though :+1:

This is specifically when using Maps in a browser on a desktop computer or laptop, and not on an Android device.

I like the ‘Copy Link’ option, which copies the link quickly :+1:

This is strange @TusharSuradkar
Several months?
I use share button a lot, even in Incognito and didn’t notice this change until today! While as we experienced, changes in web version for different accounts appear nearly in same time.

Yes, I agree, @Amiran

Changes in the web version are almost instantaneous across all users, unlike Android apps that are released incrementally in various geographies.

So, even I was surprised that you noticed it only now, even when using this feature regularly

I see the new share feature for places also.

But why the heck is the issue with getting a link to your own profile not fixed at the same time on WEB maps?

@MortenCopenhagen Maybe they think it is unnecessary feature when we can copy from address bar. Especially since we don’t have a follow option, there’s less need to share a profile.

From helping a lot of LGs my experience is that just copying a url is not common knowledge. And the formats of Maps links need to be streamlined. Some forms only accept the browser formatted profile links. It is a nightmare for many users.

I hope you are safe.

@MortenCopenhagen I completely agree.
Thank you :blossom:
