Since we are already a Local Guide, we focus on the Maps and Local Guides Connect to contribute and see our contributions status.
So mostly we forget to check the home page of Local Guides, the place we all started and what was previously a way to see the graph of our recent contributions .
But today I checked the website after few months and saw many things changed!
First, this is now in fact an introduction page like many other Google products. I prefer this because it is now more official as a Google program under the Google Maps product. I mentioned this movement before by announcement of merging social updates of Local Guides by Google Maps.
It also introduces Connect as a great benefit of the program and in real it is 
On the other hand the graphic and UI of this page is really nice and impressing. It is really valuable for new users to have an overall perspective of what they would have if they join the Local Guides program. Although I’m contributing for many years on Google Maps, even myself got inspired when I visited this page 
I pressed the “Get Started” button by curiosity but it simply said you’re already a Local Guide 
I don’t know from when this new page is available but it seems this is new and it is a great change and I like it. Congrats to Google for this new beautiful page of Local Guides.
