New Hobby During COVID-19 (Lockdown)

/* picture for attention */

Lockdown and covid are the worst things I could ever imagine. In the first 3 months, I’ve passed the days without doing anything just mapping and gaming. Days after days started passing. I didn’t even have online classes then. So, one day while I was talking to my uncle he suggested that I should learn something new. Then because of having an interest in science and technology, I started looking for a new concept. Then I found out that If I want to get a good job in the field of computer science I should definitely have a stronghold in programming languages.

So, I choose web dev. Because that was kind of easy and I also had some info inside my books. I started learning web development with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. I even built some small and basic websites for myself. After some time I looked for resources on Youtube. Learned about basic concepts in detail and learned more things like frameworks Bootstrap, Tailwind and others also learned about CMS. Now I am learning some real programming languages like C, Python, Go.

2 months after that I found a lot more things and tried to get involved like hosting events online, attending them, and having a lot of learning opportunities. Attended a lot of Hackathons even won a category prize in one of those. Got a lot of swags/goodies from Facebook, DigiOcean, GitHub, MLH, Veeam. Became an Influencer at Google Crowdsource. Talked about the Local guides program and Crowdsource in hackathons and also hosted two online meetups and a bunch of other events.

/ If you have a hobby that you made during COVID you can write a post or tell me a bit about it here /

Nice and inspiring post @ShahriarAzadEvan . For your info, HTML and CSS are not programing languages. I think Javascript is also not a full programming language. You are learning Python, C, and GO in a very short time, you cannot use any of this language properly within this short time. Each language needs at least 3-4 months to learn properly and you need to practice more. Before going to framework you need to learn object-oriented programing to do better in the framework. You are talking about CMS but you did not mention anything about PHP. To do better in CMS especially in theme development you should learn PHP very well. As you are involved with crowdsource program, my suggestion for you, learn HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, and Python. Spend one year’s time on these and I hope you will find a new one of you. I am sorry if you find anything wrong in my comment. Stay safe. Regards.

I am tagging @BidurC Da to verify my comments :grinning: :grinning:

@ShahriarAzadEvan Vai, do not try to learn everything at a time, you cannot learn anything then. Start learning step by step and only for selective language (not all) and only this way you can reach your goal. I wasted a lot of time by learning things this way and that’s why I told you what to do and how to do it. Best Regards.

@MukulR I think you are a very amazing person, brilliant, always coming up with unique posts and meetups, please strengthen that. Please.

If you say something to someone and then add; “I am sorry if you find anything wrong in my comment.”, you have already judged yourself and spelt your intention.

I actually dropped hobbies during Lockdown :smile:

Since, I am a business person, people were buying so much during the lockdown, they were stock at home and I guess consoled themselves by shopping.

The greatest hobby I dropped was watching “Hindi TV series” as a way to relax in the evening.

I am glad you learnt something new, I hope to tow your path soon. I will and ascribe it to you. Thanks for inspiring us. @ShahriarAzadEvan
