Having trouble getting the new contributor badge as it seems glitched? Any ideas to resolve?

This badge is rather special. It was introduced later than the original Maps badges. As it would be ridiculous to award this badge to experienced Local Guides, it was decided to only award it to “New” contributors. This explains why you did not get it.
As I once got suspended, the algorithm awarded it to me after I was reinstated.
Don’t worry about it. It is only for the newbies

I just checked your Maps profile and saw this:
You do have it.
Badge statistics is often delayed by a week or two.
