I started being a local guide around three years ago when I started uploading pictures of my travels on Google maps and noticed they were helpful to other people. I started answering questions about places I went to and I loved (or hated) and felt that I was making somebody else’s trip easier. I was often lost in places I have never been to thus I felt it was my responsibility as a local guide to provide a complete map of my hometown for newcomers. My new mission now is not only answering questions about places I went to but also marking new places on the maps like pharmacies and important services people can use.
One more thing that I love doing on google maps is to upload pictures of places that are not on Maps. When I am visitng a new city I want to see the traditional aspect of the city, which reveals its identity, I can find it in the colours, the architecture, and shapes of the buildings. I find much beauty in that and love to share it with other users hoping they see it in the same way
