Nekchand's Rock Garden India

I have visited Rock garden for the first time on Sunday with my friends thought of sharing with you all as suggested by @Tejal ben

Sharing the same with connect here,

This garden was invented by Nek chand who was highest award winner from govt of india, for his creation from the urban waste material.

This #Rock garden is situated in the heart of the city beautiful Chandigarh of india.

How to reach - you can reach here by flight/train and even by bus from new delhi airport the Chandigarh itself having airport in mohali too.
This garden has spread over 17 acre.
Lot of artificial #waterfall are created in such a way it seems original.

There is an open place sculptures are so nicely created from urban waste materials
That I am sure you will fall in love :heart: with them.

Please carry your drinking :potable_water: water and wear comfortable shoes as you may have to move on rocking path.
Inspiring Rock garden has lot of statue created from urban waste material in such a way that it seems live.

There is a canteen cum cafe is also available inside this garden which you can get eatables on payment like tea :tea: coffee and snacks.

There is open swings traditional #Jhula in ample numbers so that you dont have to wait for your turn .having fun and lost in childhood memories
Inside this Rock garden there is statue garden too which reflection of old #Indian #traditional life styles and festivals like marrige ,education etc.
Be careful with the gates as they are very narrow and mind your heads there.

This rock garden has got accessible parking for wheelchairs :wheelchair: .
However inside the rock garden wheelchairs :wheelchair: are not accessible.
You can an entry #tickets at the coast of just INR 30.00 .

:selfie: CAMERA entry is free (no charges).
Inside the garden washrooms :wc: are available for ladies and gents separately.

There is one more mirror :mirror: musium is there where you can see your images and :smiley: laughing cant be stopped. All photos cannot be shared here see in update section for more photos.

Overall the place need 3/4 hr minimum to explore .

Excellent post @Anil6969 - but no photos?

We went there just after the lockdown, but it was not opened yet.

So, we went ahead to Golden Temple.

This man efforts had compelled to write about him in his leasure time he alone created such beautiful creation that too all from scrap like broken bangles broken wash basin tiles and ceramics etc.

Yes indeed a single man create so much huge with leasure time that inspire us to write about him .

As how boring his life would be collected garbage and created such a wonderful creation.

So government of india :india: awarded him with the highest award PADMVIBHUSHAN. for his creativity spread in 17 acre today full of urban waste.

However i feel you must devote atleast a day ,if you want to see his creativity in details.

Of course, the photos are nice.

Nekchand Rock Garden looks to be a beautiful destination -

Is it all man made or partially mature made? (I understand that the statues are made up of scrap material).

The entrance board looks a bit low class - how is it by overall quality?

The enterance gate is always narrow as its all made by one man nekchand he spent some where 13 years to make alone with broken bangles make the army and group of monks statue with broken ceramic tiles and urban waste @TravellerG

Even you can traditional puppets which reflection of indian traditional marriage life style and pathshala many more.

Due to limitations i couldn’t share all pic however glimpses of creation triedto include in the post as a sanple.

I wish you must see at once as photography lovers coming here from all over the world and camera entry free :laughing: HAHAHA.

I am sure you wont regret for visiting the place.

It is indeed very unique @Anil6969 . I have seen many art works created from waste and recycled materials, which were magically transformed into wonderful objects. Three hours is not enough ya… hope you get a chance to come and revisit this place
