Need some help on policy questions

I tried a posting this in help desk yet wit would not allow me to change it to that at the end. I have problem I posted a review a while ago and the owner had approached me about changing. The service has improved so I don’t mind changing it however I have a therapy dog that he lets me bring out of the cold if it’s really cold. We are talking about -20C and below. I can understand his point as he doesn’t want to take the chance they my dog might do something in the store. Anyways after he approached me he said "I met you halfway with the dog how about giving me a couple more stars. So at this point I’m worried that if I change it and the service problems reoccur that I not only broke the policy on the business, however consistently.having to change it might confuse people. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Gregory2

How much are you satisfied with the service? It can vary from 1 to 5, right… If you felt it wasn’t ok then rate and review accordingly. Don’t just change because he has approached you to. Many a times people in my neighborhood approach me to change my review bcz I am of higher level and it impacts them. My answer is simple, you were not honest with your service but I will remain honest with my review.

See LG program is to help people and businesses but be genuine with it.

That’s what I was worried about. I just didn’t know what to do because he approached me and offered something for me to change my review. I wouldn’t mind changing it and adding an update for 2020 however I don’t want him thinking he had bought me off either. That is why I was wondering what should be done in this situation.

Hello @Gregory2

Any rating and review should be done in an impartial manner and should reflect one’s true experience.

Those should not be altered in return or in expectation of some favour.

In my opinion, it’s fundamental ethics and the policy guidelines are nothing but a manifestation of that.

Nevertheless, you can always modify reviews but again in an unbiased manner, if the experience changes.

@Gregory2 , a review can be changed, as indicated by @C_T , BTW I understand your feeling, and I would have the same doubt.

In editing your review you can in any case indicate that the service is improved recently, if compared with one year ago, so you decided to modify your review. Probably if they improved is also due to reviews like yours

Hi @Gregory2 ,

Thanks for reaching out to the community! : ]

In addition to what @AnshukMitra , @C_T and @ErmesT kindly shared, it would seem everyone would be on the same page, in relation to the subject.

You may also check the Google Map’s User Contributed Content Policy - under the section Format specific criteria, if there are any further doubts.

i really apologise for my mistake fro violationg the google policies. i really dont know about the policies of google about reviews. I had written about the EIFFEL TOWER and written when it was build and when was compleated about that you hae to book tickets and no. of elevators and floors etc.
