Need help to identify content violation

I posted the following review for Velotakas Bike & Tours Vilnius

“Great bikes and nicest people at a very convenient location. I rented a versatile bike and the gentleman there on May 13 found a bike mount for my GoPro to allow me to make the video of Tour de Vilnius:
https://youtu.be/47r8sC93G6Q
Look forward to renting their bike for another bike tour in Lithuania.”

It was rejected:

“What happened
Content that violates our policy on content that is off-topic, offensive, obscene or profane, or hate speech isn’t allowed.”

Could anyone offer a tip on which part of my review violates the policy?

Hello @hz10

As a result of taking a look on your profile here on connect,I realised that you have written a post like this once. Right?

Is there any difference between this post and the one you wrote :point_right:t3: Here on this link. ? If you can’t explain or if it’s the same, you would agree with me that the posts should be merged.

As regards the review please try to edit it and re-post it again. Otherwise please fill the investigation form. If you have done that before, please don’t fill it again the 2nd time. Kindly wait for your issues to be resolved. Keep checking on your account till its resolved. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Happy guiding

@SholaIB Thank you for our prompt response.

Yes, I posted that before when my account was suspended due to those reviews, and all those reviews were rejected. I appealed and they restored my account and I reposted them without any change one by one to get them published.

This one is unrelated to that issue. I do not know how to edit this review which violates the policy. I do not know which sentence violates the policy.

Thank you for feedback and reply. I read in the other post how you tried to edit the review without changing anything and posted them again and it worked.

This is an on going issue regarding reviews and Google team wrote here in this article , about it not too long ago. It seems its also a general issue as I am also facing the same. Some of my reviews are also marked private.

There is also another article on that which might interest you :point_right: An update on how we moderate Google Maps reviews.

Please make sure to go through the articles.

Since you don’t know the policy please kindly see :point_right:t3: this link here for details.Hopefully that should help you to know. Please kindly use the investigation form below.

:point_right: Account investigation for contributions not visible on Google Maps

Please note that it takes a while as there are others on the queue regarding account investigation. Therefore please wait patiently while the team try to resolve the issue regarding your reviews.

That’s said there will be no notification when it’s resolved. Keep checking and fingers crossed your reveiws will be restored of found legitimate.

Happy connect @7

Cheers

@SholaIB Thank you for the detailed tips. I apologize if I confused you. I read the policy twice, so not knowing the policy is not my issue. The issue is that I do not know which sentence of my review violates the policy that I have read.

I will file an investigation form and report back.

Hi @hz10

It looks like you were informed that the review in question was made private. In that case you should appeal that particular case rather than using the general form suggested by @SholaIB .

All the best

@MortenCopenhagen Thank you for the tip. I agree with you. How can I appeal for a specific case?

Go to your review contribution list. The link should be right under the hidden review. Please try @AdamGT 's advice first.

Thank you. It works.

That idea crossed my mind and I dismissed it because I published another view earlier with a YouTube link and did not get a rejection notification, so I thought it couldn’t be the link. I went back to this earlier review after seeing your suggestion and found it was rejected too. I am fairly sure it was accepted initially. I have just searched my emails and could not find a rejection notification for this earlier review.

I’m pleased to hear that my suggestion worked for you @hz10 and thank you for flagging my suggestion as a solution. This will help others who may have the same issue. Reviews can be rejected at different times so even though one review was accepted at one time it may be rejected later.

By the way, when leaving replies to others here on Connect, do make sure that you tag the person that you are replying to. You do this by typing the @ character and a few characters of the person’s Connect Username and then select their name from the drop list. You’ll note that I’ve tagged you in my reply here.

@AdamGT Thank you. Sorry for forgetting to tag you in my previous reply.

I did the same editing to the earlier review with a YouTube link - removing it, but it was still rejected. I appealed it and will report back there.

@AdamGT I wanted to report back that my appeal has been approved with the following email from Google:

A moderator determined that Google incorrectly applied its policies to your review. Your review is posted.
Thank you for your patience as we work to make sure people can find helpful, accurate, and appropriate information about places on Google services like Maps and Search.

I wish they could tell me which specific policy they applied incorrectly.
