Need advice on adding a new place to Google Maps

Hello Local Guides.

I would like to ask for guidance on how to successfully add a new place to Google Maps. The location is in Tay Ninh Province, Vietnam. It is a newly completed landmark featuring a large Statue of Liberty replica and a dedicated building structure that can be visited by the public. I have already submitted the place on Google Maps several times with photos, but the submission was not approved.

Could you please advise: What requirements must a new landmark or tourist attraction meet to be accepted on Google Maps? What evidence should I provide to verify the location? Is it necessary to provide an official website, social media page, or news article? How can I demonstrate that the location is permanent and publicly accessible?

I can provide: Photos of the structure Exact coordinates Full address in Tay Ninh, Vietnam. Additional information about the management unit if required, I would appreciate any guidance on how to improve the submission and get the place approved.

Thank you.

Hi @D4rkLiDaNi

You have already added about 30 new places on Google Maps, so I doubt you are asking how to add a new place. Maybe you already tried?

Selecting the correct category is crucial.

According to your screenshot it is a statue. In that case I would choose the category Sculpture, as getting a cultural landmark or tourist attraction approved can be harder

Landmarks are largely unnecessary when navigating with Google Maps. So they are often not approved.

Next step is to find relevant online prof of the place’s existence. Does it have a website? That will help a lot.

Can you see the statue on Google Streetview?

When creating a new place it is best not to add a lot of photos. Just one = that clearly show the statue and where it is located.

I hope this helps.
