I used Globe, these were the days when I was a child, there was no any smart phone but the era of Atlas Books & Maps and desired to know the countries and bordering neighbours of Pakistan. Further wanted to know the Geography of the countries and other necessary things on the maps.
In the age of windows there came many versions of maps and I became interested to study them to learn the things from these maps on simple computers. In the times of my exams there came many questions asking, capitals, currencies, borders, oceans and directions of the countries bordering each other and this was the time I got involved in the mapping world unknowingly that I am actually doing it from last many decades but day by day up-grading my skills and expertise voluntarily.
There came the occasion when I got jobs and where I needed much help through maps and always preferred Google maps as it was the stage of doing things with much responsibility and care and Google Maps were reliable and better than any other brand of maps. My involvement increased during my employment period when I was directly assigned to be a GIS person to help in the mapping of the desired locations and physically verified things on earth.
I got involved in the Google maps when I was labelling and adding the missing places on Google maps and Google maps was appreciating my volunteer work through emails. Google maps became my Guide in my employment career and become my assistant in Navigation to be in the far from my head office location in the field where there is no network but still can get the locations and Navigate the remote areas of my region. This is the phase of Smart Phones. This way I became a navigator by birth and Google Maps made me a born navigator in the form of Local Guide Thank you Google for making me live.
