Navi Mumbai trek!

Hey guys, the plan is to enjoy a leisurely trek up to the top of a hill(called Gawalidevi), which serves as a vantage point to observe almost half of the city of Navi Mumbai. The start of the trail is a mere 5kms away from Ghansoli railway station. It has a small parking lot where we can park our vehicles. We can co-ordinate beforehand on sharing rides to get to the base (a max of 3 cars should be enough). For people who are in and around the area, it’d be good fun spotting known landmarks from the top and for those who’re new, you’ll appreciate the beauty of Navi Mumbai from up top! The trek in itself can be covered in 45 mins at a leisurely pace. Point is to make it back to the base by 7pm, that way if anyone’s up for a snack, we can have it at any snack corner around Ghansoli. Things to carry - a decent pair of walking shoes, a bottle of water and a cap. Ofc, get your cameras since we’ll click a whole lotta pics to share. Hello fellow Local Guides, thank you for taking interest and responding to the meet-up. I was waiting to initiate the conversation for while, but figured I’ll wait some more just in case others decide to join. 10 is quite a crowd and I hope we have a grand time.

I don’t have camera for pics, whatever pics and videos i contribute on maps is from my mobile phone, so if i want to join this meets up without any special camera. Is it ok?

Hi Umair,
I do not think Google will object to us not having professional DSLR cameras with us.
Kindly get your phone along, it should be more than enough.

don’t need any other special gadgets for Photography in Meetup and posting photos for Google Map, our Smart phone is all in one, so keep Mapping…

Hey guys, thank you for your responses. I’d like to call our meet-up a small success, since we did have members and we went through with our agenda of going to the top and coming down, in one piece ?
Special mention to @AshishBobade & Aditya Patil to have made it for the trek. We had a grand time in exploring this relatively un-explored place so close to Navi Mumbai.
Really hope to have more of such meet-ups and request others to join in the fun as well.
