Nature's art

I am not the type of person who loves to go to museums but every time I go l get amazed by the things I see and learn. Last month I went to visit a museum in Beirut, Lebanon called MIM, it is a museum of minerals formed million years ago of different geometric shapes collected from all over the world and are now in this museum.

What amazed me a lot and surprised me that all of these minerals are the creation of the nature and they could’ve been smashed or destroyed by the workers but their beauty saved them. The shapes I saw made me think how much nature is great and mysterious.

The geometric shapes are perfect. Nature is perfect.

I ll share some of the beautiful extraordinary pieces and I hope if one day you visit Lebanon go visit this unusual museum and if you didn’t love chemistry at school believe you ll start loving it after your visit.

Hi @CatherineKh

Wow those are stunning formations! I love the white one, Silicates! It’s so pretty! I also go to the museums for that reason, to see and learn something new, especially if I’m in a new country.

Are you traveling in Lebanon or did you live there? These kinds of museums are unforgettable, because they differ from your normal paintings museums. Not that they aren’t cool. It’s just different.

Thanks :slightly_smiling_face:

This is a beautiful post @CatherineKh

Minerals can be really fascinating. Beautiful gems from the nature.

I took the next photo at Wieliczka salt mine, during the European Meet-up 2018 (Wieliczka salt mine - memories of European Meetup '18 - Kraków ).

The mine is amazing, and just close to the exit they have a small exhibition of minerals

I also Loved the California Academy of Sciences , here the story:California Academy of Sciences - a day In San Francisco after Connect Live '18

On the first floor they have an exhibition of minerals too

@DanniS yes indeed it is very different from painting and sculpture just for the fact that this is purely nature’s creation.

I used to live in Lebanon, i am from Lebanon, but moved recently to Paris:)
