Dear LGC friends,
StreetView supporters,
and challenge enthusiasts,
it is with immense pleasure and, above all, pride, that I share with you my humble milestone of reaching 1 million views on my StreetView project, “National Park of the Archipelago of la Maddalena.”
I’ve been frequenting this island (La Maddalena) since I was a child, and I have a deep connection to this environment and the people who inhabit it. I wanted to do something different to give greater visibility to this fantastic and historically rich place.
I sought inspiration here, on LGC, and I found it: StreetView!.
From 0 to 1 Million. Zero availability of equipment, limited knowledge of StreetView, but 1 Million of eagerness to create something that DOESN’T EXIST!
A total and comprehensive mapping of the trails with StreetView!
It was December of last year when I discussed the project with @ErmesT , who fueled my enthusiasm. I bought a 360° camera, and I went to Sardinia.
There are still a few trails missing on the main islands and those leading to the military fortifications on the islands of Spargi and Budelli, as well as some smaller islands.
I’ve discussed this with the park director and, this summer, I’ll manage to complete the project by finishing those few missing trails.
Thanks to Ermes for the support and thanks to all of you.
Of course, I look forward to seeing you in La Maddalena and I’ll be happy to be your guide,
Take care
Ciao
Marco
