Hey @Zcar77 ,

Thanks for sharing your photo. Can you tell us more about this tree and why it is considered as the national flower? Is there a nice story to it? Does the tree bloom only in spring or is it all year long?

If you can add a bit more details to your great photo I’m sure it will help others to understand why you are sharing and why they should read your posts.

@AbdullahAM @MoniDi From back then in history the flower was around but The Bahamas government noticed that other flowers like the Poinciana the hibiscus and other flowers was already other countries national tree but the yellow elder had no other country claiming it so they made it our national flower ,this flower is beautiful with yellow leaves and bees are attracted to it so it shows it also has some medicinal use to from its texture in nature its a wonderful plant so from then it is preserved from being instinct because it’s not easily found in the wild as it use to be from long time ago. Now the U.S Virgin islands also claim it’s there national flower .:blush:

@Zcar77 ,

Thanks for adding more information. It was very interesting for me to read that the Yellow Elder is the national flower of the Bahamas.

Just out of curiosity, which is the national animal that represents the island?
